We're Sorry to See You Go — But We'll Make It Easy
Cancelling your QuickEstimate subscription is straightforward and can be done entirely from your account settings — no phone calls, no hoops to jump through. This page walks you through exactly how to cancel, what happens to your data afterwards, and what your options are if you decide to come back.
Before you cancel, it's worth knowing that we offer a free pause option and flexible plan downgrades. If cost or a temporary break is the reason, there may be a better fit for your situation.
Before You Cancel — Please Read
Cancellation cannot be undone automatically. Here's what you need to be aware of before proceeding:
- Access to your account ends at the close of your current billing period — not immediately
- After 30 days post-expiry, your data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
- Unused subscription time is non-refundable unless covered by our refund policy
- If you have active team members on your account, they will also lose access
We recommend exporting your data before cancelling — see the instructions below.
How to Cancel Your Subscription
Follow these steps to cancel your QuickEstimate subscription. The entire process takes under two minutes.
Export Your Data First
Before cancelling, we strongly recommend downloading a full copy of your account data. Once your account is deleted, this cannot be recovered.
- Log in to your QuickEstimate account and go to Account Settings
- Click the Data & Privacy tab in the left-hand menu
- Select Export All Data — your export will be prepared and emailed to you
- The export includes all estimates, client records, proposals, templates, and settings
- Large accounts may take up to 30 minutes to receive the export email
You can also export individual estimates or client records at any time from within the relevant section of your account.
Navigate to Billing Settings
Cancellation is managed from the Billing section of your account settings. You must be the account owner to cancel — team members and admins cannot do this on your behalf.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard
- Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu
- In the left-hand sidebar, click Billing & Subscription
- Your current plan, renewal date, and payment details are shown here
Cancel Your Subscription
Once you're in the Billing section, cancellation takes just a few clicks.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Billing page and click Cancel Subscription
- You'll be shown a summary of what you'll lose access to and when
- Optionally, select a reason for cancelling — this helps us improve (takes 10 seconds)
- Click Confirm Cancellation to complete the process
- A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address immediately
If you don't receive a confirmation email within five minutes, check your spam folder or contact our support team to verify the cancellation was processed.
What Happens After Cancellation
Understanding the timeline after you cancel helps you plan accordingly, especially if you have ongoing projects or active clients.
- Immediately: Your subscription is marked as cancelled — no further charges will occur
- Until billing period ends: Full access to all features continues as normal
- After billing period ends: Account moves to read-only mode — you can view but not create or edit
- After 30 days in read-only: All data is permanently and irreversibly deleted
- Any client-facing estimate links you've shared will stop working after your billing period ends
We'll send you reminder emails at 7 days and 3 days before your data is permanently deleted, giving you one last chance to export or reactivate.
Alternatives to Cancelling
If you're considering cancellation, one of these options might better suit your situation:
- Downgrade to a lower-cost plan to keep your data and core features at a reduced price
- Pause your subscription for up to 3 months — your data stays intact and no charges apply during the pause
- Switch to annual billing to reduce your monthly cost by up to 20%
- Contact our support team — we may be able to offer a temporary discount or adjusted plan
To explore these options, go to Account Settings → Billing & Subscription or contact our team for a one-to-one conversation.
How to Reactivate Your Account
Changed your mind? Reactivating your QuickEstimate account is quick and your data will be fully restored — as long as you're within the 30-day window.
Log In and Reactivate
Visit quickestimate.io and log in with your existing credentials. You'll be prompted to choose a plan and reactivate — your data will be immediately restored.
Act Within 30 Days
Reactivation is only possible during the 30-day read-only period after your billing ends. After that, data is permanently deleted and recovery is not possible.
Choose Any Plan
When reactivating, you're free to choose any available plan — you're not locked into your previous one. Downgrading is fine; your data is preserved regardless of the plan you pick.
Need Help Reactivating?
If you're having trouble logging in or the reactivation flow isn't working, contact support at help@quickestimate.io and we'll sort it out promptly.
Frequently Asked Questions
QuickEstimate subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period unless you cancel within 14 days of your initial sign-up (covered by our 14-day money-back guarantee). If you cancel mid-period, you retain access until the end of that period but are not charged going forward. For exceptional circumstances, contact our support team to discuss your case.
No. Only the account owner can cancel a QuickEstimate subscription. Team members — including those with admin roles — do not have access to billing settings. If you need help accessing your owner account, contact our support team with your registered email address and we'll assist you.
Any estimate links you've shared with clients will continue to work until the end of your billing period. Once your account expires, those links will no longer be accessible. We recommend downloading PDF copies of any active estimates before your account closes, and notifying clients of any relevant changes.
Yes, you can cancel an annual plan at any time. Your access will continue until the end of the annual billing period you've already paid for. Refunds for unused months on annual plans are not standard but may be considered in exceptional circumstances — contact our support team to discuss.
You'll receive a cancellation confirmation email immediately after completing the process. Your Billing page will also update to show the cancellation status and the date your access ends. If you don't receive the confirmation email within five minutes, check your spam folder or contact support to confirm.
Don't worry — simply log back in to your account and follow the reactivation prompt. As long as your billing period hasn't ended, reactivation is instant and your account will be back to normal. If your billing period has already ended, you still have up to 30 days to reactivate before data is permanently deleted.
