Don't Leave Your Pricing Open-Ended
Material and labour costs change. A validity period stops a client accepting a months-old price.
When you send a proposal, QuickEstimate sets a valid-until date. After that date the client can no longer approve it.
Set Your Default Validity Period
Open Business Settings
Click Management in the top menu, then Business Settings.
Go to Pricing & Tax
Open step 4, Pricing & Tax, and scroll to Proposal Lifecycle Settings.
Choose Default Proposal Validity
Pick 7, 14, 30, 45, 60 or 90 days, or enter a custom number of days. The default is 30 days.
Save
Click Save Progress. New proposals use this period from the moment you send them.
Extend or Renew a Proposal
Go to Estimates and open the three-dot menu on the proposal's row. Which options you see depends on its status:
Change / Extend Expiry
For proposals still waiting on the client (Sent or Viewed). Enter how many days to extend by.
Renew (Extend Existing)
Sets the same proposal back to Sent with a fresh validity period, using your default. Also works for Expired, Rejected and Cancelled proposals.
Renew as Revision
Creates a new draft copy for you to edit and send. The original is kept for your records and moved to Archived.
