A Record of Every Proposal
Each proposal keeps a History of what happened to it and when: when it was sent, opened, accepted, extended and more.
When a proposal needs to change after it has gone out, you can edit it in place or create a revision, which keeps the original for your records.
Viewing a Proposal's History
Open the proposal
Go to Estimates and click the eye icon on the proposal's row.
Click History
The History button at the top of the proposal shows how many events are recorded. Click it to open the list.
Read the entries
Each entry shows the event, the date and time, any note, and who did it. Events include:
- Created, Ready and Sent
- Viewed (every time the client opens the proposal)
- Accepted, Rejected and Cancelled
- Expiry Changed and Renewed
- Archived, Reason Lost and Reminder Sent
Editing vs. Creating a Revision
Edit in place
Click Edit on the proposal, make your changes and send it again. The client's link always shows the latest version. Earlier versions are not saved, so download the PDF first if you want a copy of what you sent.
Renew as Revision
On the Estimates list, open the three-dot menu and choose Renew as Revision. QuickEstimate creates a new draft copy for you to edit and send, and moves the original to Archived, so you keep both.
Renew as Revision is available for proposals that are Sent, Viewed, Expired, Rejected or Cancelled.
Accepted proposals are locked
Once a client signs, the proposal can't be edited, so the agreed price is preserved. Use Duplicate Proposal to start a new one.
